2016 TDRA Lonestar 200

2016 TDRA Lonestar 200.

Thanks again to Hess Racing for letting me navigate.

Preran the course and due to some major ruts, had to pull a fellow prerunning racer out of a rut.

Everything went well for the 1458 truck. This truck was the TDRA Heavy Metal class champ of 2015 and needed to finish 1 lap of the 2016 ender to again be the reigning champ of the class.

Lap 1:
At the start of the first lap of the Lonestar 200, we ran into some heavy ran. the rain was a double edged sword. The rain helped eliminate the dust but it also soaked the truck, inside and out.
We experienced a comms issue for a little while, but once everything dried out, everything cleared back up.

Lap2:
Everything went pretty smooth. watching our mirrors we work to stay out of the way of the Beal's TT's. When we did this, we ran into a bush and snagged the front brake line.

Lap 3:
Josh began to push the truck's lap pace harder, and with that , the 1458 Tacoma was struggling to stay cool. The engine began to limp so we backed out of that pace. We pulled into the pits, checked everything out and decided to push on.

Lap 4-- Not sure how it happened, but we managed to shear off the rear passenger brake caliper bracket. Josh pulled into the half-way pits. We pulled the rear wheel off, grabbed the caliper and pinched off the brake line. A pair of vise-grips and zip ties can do wonders!

We finished the race First in time and position.

Josh finished every race this season and all first in time and position. His Toyota Tacoma has proven itself time and time again that it is reliable and quick!
